Niykee continues to write songs despite having been part of the latest turmoil. Niykee was selected to be part of this year's YouTube Brandcast by Snoop and the rapper was with her on stage. The singer-songwriter is drawn to her, and always tries out most recent beats. Many end up inspiring songs. In just 5 seconds, I can tell what a song is or not. Then I get an idea for an original song, and start writing it immediately. My guitar is set up on the back porch and I'll let my thoughts flow. The process usually takes about 30 minutes. In her development as a musician, Niykee says that her pain from the past serves as an endless source of unlikely sources of inspiration. My experience of pain as a child as a child as well as the loss of my sister is present in my lyrics, even though they're not literal. My songs are inspired by my experiences and I can see the bigger picture beneath everything. That's one of the aspects that are most crucial to me.
